The Information Age saw the conversion of brain labor into automated and semi-automated “smart machine” labor around the World War II time period. Primary job responsibilities shifted to information and services from tending machines. The G.I. Bill of Rights and the introduction of computers resulted in a well educated workforce with powerful new tools.
